AI Is Stupid Sometimes

My Prompt in Bing Got Flagged

I was trying to illustrate my new bishop powers in Fighting Chess — a variant that I invented and that we will feature on our new website www.fightchess.com.

So, I typed in the prompt in the Bing AI Image Generator:

Image Creator from Microsoft Bing

This was not ok.
This was ok.

So, why is the sidestep command with color assignment change not ok while the one square straight ahead with color assignment change ok?

Clearly, Bing is objecting to the color assignment change like as in a change in race from Latino to Caucasian or some other such skin color change. But, bishops in chess have a color assignment. Each player gets what we call a light-squared bishop and a dark-squared bishop.

In Fighting Chess, a bishop now gets to also move and capture like a king. If a bishop now moves one square left, right, up, or back, it changes the color of the square it is on. So, Bing is entirely mistaken with the “objectionable prompt.”

Good grief, AI. It will be nice once you understand the nuances of language a little bit better to catch these subtleties.

Thanks for reading me.
