The Conversion of Saint Paul on the Way to Damascus (c. 1889), by José Ferraz de Almeida Júnior

Member-only story

Atheists, how can you reject the Gospel when it is “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes?” Do you think Saint Paul was a madman when he wrote that? Why don’t you trust him?

The power of God is non-existent. I am sure there have been many people over the last 2000 years to ask, challenge, plead, chide, and otherwise convince God to come to this little lump of dirt whipping around its star on the outskirts of the Milky Way.

If He is all-knowing (which He isn’t), He would know that we have wanted to see him make an appearance. He has chosen not to. Why? A religious person might say God works in mysterious ways. But, an atheist is perhaps child-like in knowing that God doesn’t exist. It’s like the child in The Emperor’s New Clothes. It took a child to say that the emperor wasn’t wearing any clothes. Here’s a site with this story by Hans Christian Anderson:

I have lately been constructing arguments against God and the supernatural. I have proven that stuff doesn't exist with science equations. I aspire to be great.
