Commenting with a False Statement Does Not Overturn an Author’s Post on Medium (or Anywhere Else)
This Applies Mostly to Religious and Pseudoscience Believers
I have been debunking religion and pseudoscience for a while now. I have been developing a following of some savvy people. Unfortunately, I have been getting noticed by the denizens of the underworld as well.
So, it pains me to have to say this, but it needs to be said. So, I am speaking to the trolls here. You can’t just make some negative comment to attempt to discredit an author’s post and think you succeeded. You might feel good that you “debunked” the post. But, you only made a false statement, which actually shows you are either a liar or are ignorant — neither one is appealing in case you didn’t know it.
So, I am going to give you trolls some pointers here. These pointers also apply to good guys, too. Thus, anyone can read the following and benefit from it.
Now, if an author makes a true statement, you cannot debunk it. Why? It’s is simply because it is true. If you make a negative comment to a true statement saying something like you don’t believe it or that it’s false, you are in the wrong. You didn’t do anything except show your lack of intelligence or education.
