Democrat or Republican?

Democrats believe in helping someone when they’re down. Republicans want you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps (and according to Barrak Obama, they want you to do this even if you don’t have any bootstraps).

Democrats believe in tax breaks for the middleclass and poor class. Republicans believe in tax breaks for the wealthy. Democrats believe in the little guy. Republicans believe in the power elite.

Democrats believe in letting you worship your God as you see fit. Republicans believe in the God of the Bible. As such, Democrats have a big tent with lots of kinds of people in it. Republicans are very anti: anti-gay, anti-immigrant, etc.

Republicans believe in guns. The more guns the better. Democrats believe in gun control. There’s so much avoidable death at the hands of people with guns who should not have been able to get them. Republicans think the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. If the bad guy can’t get a gun, then he cannot do his nefarious deed.

Democrats believe in science. Science says global warming is a man-made phenomenon. Science says we need to cut green-house gas emissions to save the planet (translation — to save the human species). Republicans believe God will save us and that they can rape, pillage, and plunder the environment forever to make a ton of money. Science has shown the earth has limitations, and we have crossed that barrier. Republicans call that fake news.

And, the abortion fiasco going on in Texas is the Republican dream and Democrat nightmare.

Are there corruptions to these basic, simplistic ideas and people who represent them? Sure. But, you can see the differences in members of one party over the other get elected.
