This is a conversation I had with Advanced Google Gemini where it tried to defend determinism for quite a bit until I brought the house down!

I would like Determinism classified as a pseudoscience.

Some consider determinism to be pseudoscience because it’s impossible to test and falsify. It is a philosophical view, not a scientific theory.

Can philosophical views be incorrect?

Yes, absolutely! While philosophy deals with subjective questions and interpretations, it’s not just a matter of opinion. Philosophical views can be:

  • Logically flawed: A philosophical argument can contain contradictions, fallacies, or inconsistencies that render it invalid.
  • Incoherent: Sometimes a philosophical viewpoint can create a framework that ultimately doesn’t make sense within its own rules.
  • Unsupported by evidence: While philosophy doesn’t always rely on empirical evidence in the same way science does, it often draws upon reason, observation, and our understanding of the world. If a philosophical view clashes with these, it can be considered incorrect.

I have lately been constructing arguments against God and the supernatural. I have proven that stuff doesn't exist with science equations. I aspire to be great.
