Dinosaurs Mass Extinction Event Not in the Bible?
The Faithful Believe Despite Such Strong Counter-Evidence to It.
The level of faith a person has for this thing or that thing is a vertical line that could be anywhere from -1 (Anti-theistic Thinking) to 1 (Theistic Thinking). Atheism is 0 (the vertical line labeled Atheistic Thinking). The level of evidence something has is represented by a horizontal line. The line at -1 is called the Line of Certainty Against. The line between points D and F wasn’t labeled, but we can call it the Line of Uncertainty, and it runs right through the Circle of Uncertainty.
Ideally, you would like to align your level of belief in something with the amount of evidence for or against that belief. This line has a name — the Line of Correct Alignment.
Observe Point I in the lower right hand corner of the graph. This person has a data point on the Line of Certainty Against. Thus, there is so much evidence against the belief that it is now a certainty that the belief is false. Yet, this person’s data point is right there on the line of theistic thinking.
