Fuck: There, I Said It

I am wondering if the Medium algorithm will now distribute my story further. Apparently, the tags don’t work.

When I post on various topics and use the appropriate tags, you would think I would get a lot of responses. I tagged writing in my last post on the Medium Writers Challenge contest (which I did not win with my entry Chess is a Phoenix: https://medium.com/boardgamesandcards/chess-is-a-phoenix-6574fbf9bd5). The “Writing” tag has more than a quarter of a million followers (or people who have claimed it as an interest). So, why do I only ever get just a handful of views when I post on various topics.

So, this article is an experiment (and it will most likely fail). I will not use any tags. I want to see if the single word F*** in the title will bring in some followers for me. Yeah, I need to get to a hundred just like so many others. I read about some Medium authors getting there in just a few weeks. How did they do that? Beats me. I have been trying for about six months now, and I just broke 30. At that pace, I won’t make it to 100 and will likely get removed from the program. I have yet to break a dollar in a month yet, anyway. So, would I really lose anything if I was removed? All the same, though, I would like to continue building an audience.

What do I write about? I write about many things, I suppose. But, my main areas are board games and card games (I invent board games and card games). I also write about math. I have a bachelors degree in it, so I am an expert on it. No, I cannot fathom technical papers…
