I Am Staying Here on Medium, Thank You
I keep seeing all these authors show up in my feed about Vocal, Substack, and the new kid on the block — Simily. They are telling their readers to jump ship because of the greener pastures there. I am skeptical of this, so I am staying right here on Medium, thank you.
My growth on Medium is slow (agonizingly slow!!), but it is steady. I was worried about losing my Partner status when December 31 came. But, I managed to get over 100 followers. So, in one sense I was pleased, but in other ways, I was dismayed because some other authors were blowing me away. Some had joined only the previous month and already had over 100 followers. Gheez, how’d they’d do it so fast?
But, I am now a Partner to stay. My followers are still climbing. This week I should break 150 (woot woot). No, it isn’t 200K like some of the top top people here on Medium, but what are you gonna do? I am happy where I am at, and I will continue to work to get to the top.
I just read another article. This person was complaining about who is reading here on Medium. According to axios, (a financial site) in 2019 Medium had about 400,000 paying members. Today, they have about 725,000 members. That’s some big time growth.
