If I was never born what would I be?

You would not exist. But, you were born and grew in body and mind to the point you could ask such a question. You exist in the present, but you would not exist in your hypothetical. There is no conflict by you existing or not existing now because your hypothetical is false.
My mother and grandmother had a conversation one time that I watched. My mother said, “Well, I never asked to be born.” My grandmother said, “No, you didn’t. But, if you would have, the answer would have been no.”
Of course, my mother could not have asked to be born. No one can ask anything before they exist. Yet, here my mom and grandma play with this idea with the familiarity of breathing.
Existence apparently requires thought. Descartes “I think — therefore I am” is the central pillar of his philosophy.
You can think now, and your question is an example of that. You could not think before…
