Wanting is not the issue. I want God to exist! If I had such a being in my corner, that would solve all of my problems! For you to say we do not want it isn't true. I think we do want it--at least the all loving powerful part, not the genocide and infanticide stuff (nor the slavery stuff and subordination of women stuff, either).

So, what's at issue is the lack of evidence of God. No prayers get answered. No show of his power. The flimsiest evidence surrounding his son, etc. No evidence of any miracle has ever been found. If we had some evidence for Him, we could get on board.
