Well, atheism is the term. But, cats like Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris do a lot more than profess a lack of belief in the monotheistic God Yahweh or Allah. They actively campaign against religion. Shouldn't this make them antitheists or distheists (mistheists)? Yes, depending on how far they go to putting down religion, God, or supernatural deities in general, we could call them those things. But, those other terms don't exist, so we employ the term atheist.
